Information Survivability for Mobile Wireless Systems

چکیده
VOLUME 12, NUMBER 1, 2000 LINCOLN LABORATORY JOURNAL 65 I encompasses many aspects of security and reliability for computers and networks. Information survivability is more than just preventing computer break-ins and protecting secret information from prying eyes. Systems must be robust; they must be able to continue to operate despite successful attacks that may compromise portions of the system. Maintaining the security and survivability of mobile wireless systems is a complex challenge. Wireless communication links typically have lower bandwidth and reliability than the wire or fiber-optic links used in conventional networks because they are more susceptible to communication errors caused by noise and interference. Radio links can fade as computers in the network move in and out of communication range with their neighbors. Communication can be cut off altogether if computers move behind obstacles, such as buildings or hills. Information Survivability for Mobile Wireless Systems

A New Intrusion Detection System to deal with Black Hole Attacks in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks
By extending wireless networks and because of their different nature, some attacks appear in these networks which did not exist in wired networks. Security is a serious challenge for actual implementation in wireless networks. Due to lack of the fixed infrastructure and also because of security holes in routing protocols in mobile ad hoc networks, these networks are not protected against attack...
متن کاملA Cellular Automaton Based Algorithm for Mobile Sensor Gathering
In this paper we proposed a Cellular Automaton based local algorithm to solve the autonomously sensor gathering problem in Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks (MWSN). In this problem initially the connected mobile sensors deployed in the network and goal is gather all sensors into one location. The sensors decide to move only based on their local information. Cellular Automaton (CA) as dynamical sy...
متن کامل3D Path Planning Algorithm for Mobile Anchor-Assisted Positioning in Wireless Sensor Networks
Positioning service is one of Wireless Sensor Networks’ (WSNs) fundamental services. The accurate position of the sensor nodes plays a vital role in many applications of WSNs. In this paper, a 3D positioning algorithm is being proposed, using mobile anchor node to assist sensor nodes in order to estimate their positions in a 3D geospatial environment. However, mobile anchor node’s 3D path optim...
متن کاملSurvivability Analysis of Ad Hoc Wireless Network Architecture
Mobile ad hoc wireless networks are generating novel interests in mobile computing. The dynamism in network topology has thrown up multifarious issues, requiring a fresh look into the aspects of system design and networking protocols. As a direct consequence of injecting mobility into a static network, the formal relationships between several governing parameters have undergone changes. In this...
متن کاملOn Survivability of Mobile Cyber Physical Systems with Intrusion Detection
In this paper we address the survivability issue of amobile cyber physical system (MCPS) comprising sensor-carried human actors, vehicles, or robots assembled together for executing a specific mission in battlefield or emergency response situations. We develop a mathematical model to assess the survivability property of aMCPS subject to energy exhaustion and security failure. Our model-based an...
